Completing online surveys can be a great way to earn some extra money in your spare time. There are many survey websites that pay consumers to complete surveys in exchange for some extra spending cash or prizes, like Amazon gift cards.
With so many websites offering money to fill out surveys, it can be confusing to figure out what is a legitimate survey site, and what is a waste of your time.
There are a couple of online survey sites that either scam people out of their hard earned money, or completely take advantage of their need to earn real money.
Sometimes a scam site will sucker people by not being upfront about sign up fees. Sometimes they are phishing scams.
The important question is: “Is the Panel PayDay website a scam?” I’ll give you everything you need to know in this Panel PayDay Review. That way, you can decide for yourself whether this is a legit site and whether it’s worth your free time or not.
What Is Panel PayDay?
Panel PayDay is one of many independent companies who work with legit survey sites. Their main objective is help their survey panelists shop the different offers from the best survey sites.
Each of these partners offers different surveys that pay a range based on the amount of time it takes for a panelist to complete a survey. This is a different business model than most survey websites.
How does Panel PayDay work?
Panel PayDay earns their money when you sign up with any of their retailers. Basically, this is affiliate marketing, and Panel PayDay is an affiliate site.
Panel PayDay general features
One of the things that stands out when you first check out Panel PayDay is that this survey site promises you’d make $25 to $75 a survey. That’s pretty suspicious, given that most surveys found online will pay out less than a dollar per completed survey. In some cases, the amount may go up to two dollars per survey.
Seeing that their starting point is $25, it sounded too good to be true at first glance. And the website actually says this!
So we took a closer look at the sign up process.
Sign up process
Signing up takes you through a couple of steps that might be a bit time-consuming.
In the next step, you’ll get notified that by signing up you’ve agreed to receive emails from Panel PayDay and the survey companies that they work with. That’s why I suggest creating a separate email address for this website or any survey-related website.
Usually, with this type of service, you’ll get a ton of spam emails. Moreover, they’ll most probably sell your contact information to other advertising companies. So to avoid unwanted emails from building up over time, it’s easier to just create a separate email address.
You’ll then be taken to your first offers page. You’ll find a list of partner sites with offers that you can choose from. Once you select the referral link to a particular survey, you’ll be taken to a new website.
Once there, you’ll need to create a separate sign up form for that particular survey site.
In this step, that’s where my suspicions started growing. You’ll find offers from different websites telling you that ‘limited spots available’. The funny thing is that no matter how many times you go back to the page, the number of spots won’t change.
You do have the option to choose ‘no’ and continue to the next page normally. But it’s mysterious how those $25 to $75 offers seem to dry up, and you’re left with the same crappy surveys everyone else has access to.
Panel PayDay Surveys
What was a bit shocking is that when you first take surveys you’ll find out that you won’t get paid directly by Panel PayDay. At least, not at first.
The reason is that in order to start getting paid, you have to pass the first level of online survey taking. You’ll take a series of surveys first. Those surveys will grant you ‘gifts’ and not money. It appears that they do that in order to determine if you’re serious about taking surveys or not.
Once you finish the required number of surveys, you’ll then be moved to the next level and start getting paid for taking surveys.
This wasn’t clarified in the beginning. That is one of the reasons why people might start thinking that this was a scam site.
Partners Panel PayDay Works With
Under each of the offers, you’ll find the option to read more about each company. Usually, it’ll be filled with so much information, none of which you’d be interested in.
If you’re looking to know about the payout and how you’ll get paid, go directly to that particular survey site. You might find better answers to your questions on their direct website or FAQ page.
Getting Paid by Panel PayDay
Here’s the tricky part, there isn’t a standard way of getting paid. That is because again, Panel PayDay is just the middleman between you and a paid survey site.
Depending on each offer you complete, you’ll be notified of how you’ll receive your money online. Some will put it in your PayPal account, while others will give you a gift card. Again, the option of the gift card wasn’t clarified in the beginning. After all, we were promised $25-$75/survey.
The sad part here though is that you won’t get paid that much money per survey. I’m not sure why they’d claim you would. But it seems that there is a wide variety of other opportunities for you to earn good money.
You might be able to get in that range on a weekly basis. That is if you spend a lot of time screening all the offers. But that’s no easy task, and there are probably better ways to spend your time.
The average pay per survey panel is somewhere between $.50 and $3. You do have to keep in mind that each page you connect to you, you’ll have to go through the signup process separately.
Pros of Panel PayDay
- Endless Offers
Cons of Panel PayDay
- Sign up process
- Vague instructions
- Not a survey company
Is Panel PayDay Legit?
In my opinion, I’d say Panel Payday is not a big scam. You’ll eventually get paid. That’s why it’s not a scam when it comes to money.
However, they’re just not honest in terms of how or when you’ll get your hard earned money. This feels like a bait-and-switch approach to taking online surveys. That’s what most people have complained about.
Even though that isn’t a very good image to what they’re trying to make. They do link you to a ton of websites that you can fill out surveys there. But you’re probably better off just going to that paid survey site directly.
You may question the legitimacy of some of these websites that Panel PayDay is connecting you to. I suggest taking some time and searching online. There are a few websites that you can simply insert the web address and they’ll tell you whether it’s legit or not.
Some websites were found to be a bit dangerous though. They might have malware, for instance, even worse they could be a phishing website.
Wrapping Up Our Panel PayDay Review
The internet is filled with so many dazzling services these days that it’s hard trying to keep up with all of it. That’s why you should always protect yourself online and avoid doing things that put even more of your personal information out there.
